(NS/CGCert) -   A Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) has been formed at The Colonial Grand Apartment Homes Complex in Lakewood Ranch...   The CERT Team's Founder and Captain is 25-year veteran Fire-Rescue Captain, Matt Bruce, originally from Upstate New York...   Mr. Bruce has extensive experience which includes responding to the 9/11 Attack on the World Trade Center in New York City and also responding to Hurricane's Charley, Katrina, Rita and Wilma as a FEMA Logistics Contractor in Florida, Mississippi and New Orleans, LA. In addition, Mr. Bruce is a member of the Manatee County ARES Team and American Red Cross Disaster Response Team...   The Colonial Grand CERT Team currently has 16 members who are responsible for the 288 Apartment Home Complex and is currently seeking to expand to 32 members. This is the first Apartment Complex in Manatee County to have started up their own CERT Team...   CERT Team members complete a 22 hour Training Course and are certified in Basic First Aid.
